Needing help with armor

Having trouble finding brads and riviets that survive battle. Any sugestions?

Photos and Stories

Slowly adding photos now in between reformatting articles. I'll start with the first of the old articles soon. I have some unpublished ones that will be stuck into the stream as well.

Of course brand new articles are always appreciated...

Easiest way to submit an article is that "New Post" button that appears when you log in (<--- Over there).

From there if you do a "Log entry" you can create a new story, work log, or even just have a place for a blog. If you want it on the front page, let me know and I'll look it over for spelling/grammar and bump it to the front page.

That "New Post" button will let you add photos directly to the gallery as well.

Guild Heraldry

Finally redid the tiny little heraldry image with some files suitable for printing or making patterns with. I've attached 2 PDFs in full color and line art and some fairly high resolution image files. The original tiny GIF is there too just in case anyone needs it.

Armor Guild Story Import

Old stories will be showing up on the site starting today. They are using their original publication dates so they'll be showing up as older articles.

I'll be dropping them in one or two a day until they are all there.

If you had written an article on the old site, please sign up to the new site here so I can assign the article to your user account.

Amtgard Armorers Guild Rebuild

It's been a while, but the new site framework is up and running. It's at a new address but the old links should still work.

Forums, Image Gallery, and Worklog/Blog should all be functioning.

Content from the old site still needs to be imported, but before I do that I would appreciate it if everyone would poke around and let me know if anything is broken. If there are no issues I'll be opening up the site for story submissions again.

Armorers Guild Archived News (5/1999 - 3/2002)

March 8th, 2002
A minor update, I added the gallery submissions I've received since the last update. They can all be seen in the gallery. The new forum finally seems to be totally up and running the way it's supposed to be.

I am still working on formatting for a few of the larger how to guides I received. They should be up this month though.

February 28, 2002
Stuff is being done, I swear. I hope to have the next update ready in a week, but for now there is a new forum. I finally got sick of all the advertisements on the Network54 forum so there is a new forum at: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx that is completely free of ads and delay screens.

July 23, 2001
It seems that Clan got everyone interested in showing off their armor. I uploaded one of the new submissions and I've got alot more stuff to go.

So much stuff to do... Lord Brion Bearclaw sent in a 14 page guide on making Lorica Segmentata (Roman style banded armor). I'm also in the process of reformatting a 16 page guide that was submitted, by someone who we will refer to for now as "Dave", on how to make a spiffy chainmail toolbox with built in coiling rod. For those of you that don't want to wait or you want to print it out in its original form it can be downloaded in MS Word format.

May 21, 2001
I've finished the first part of this update, moving the site to a new server. The new address for the Armorers Guild is xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. Please update your bookmarks.
I am working on the rest of the update right now. More information on this with the next news update, which should be Monday or Tuesday.

August 28st, 2000
Another update and alot of new submissions. Twelve new pages of images have been added to the gallery and the submissions keep coming (and keep sending them!).

June 1st, 2000
Leafy Kabuto (Click to Enlarge)I would like to welcome Calenvirt to the guild. He has made some excellent leather armor that you can see in the gallery. I am also proud to announce that DeCordene Wireworks is offering a 5% discount to Amtgard Armorers Guild members.

March 21st, 2000
Leafy Kabuto (Click to Enlarge)"Bael'nai V'rnyys, Guardian of the Oakwood" is the name of this helmet by Dmitri Wolf. This is one of the coolest helmets I've ever seen and is exactly the sort of fantasy armor that I want to see on the field. One more image is up in the gallery, a character concept sketch by Master Nagateth of Pegasus Valley.

Major updates in the last couple of weeks. Please e-mail me at if anything is amiss or you find any broken links.

February 29, 2000
Everything is going great. The Armorers Guild has been completely updated and redesigned.
My personal projects are going well. I now have a digital camera, a scanner, and a job so I can buy some stainless steel. Guess that means no more computer case armor for me. I purchased a 55lb anvil and a couple of hammers at Harbor Freight. Next on my list is a dishing stump and a drill. I recently found several patterns at the Armour Archive that look fairly easy to start with. I'll be posting an ongoing construction journal showing every step in the progress of my new armor.

January 23, 2000
I just put up a submission to the gallery from Lord Elderman. I also put up several pictures of my own because... I got a digital camera. It's not a great one, it's the kind that is supposed to sit on top of your monitor for video conference, but it works.

December 14, 1999
This is just a minor update, with just a couple of errors corrected. Still no submissions.

November 30, 1999
We still need submissions, but I haven't seen any lately. I've been busy working on other sites and getting a job, so there is nothing new from me this month. A new site of the month was selected and a few errors were corrected on the site. The purchase of a digital camera has been delayed because nobody has any money, but there is alot of stuff to take pictures of.

October 11, 1999
2000 hits! and a new pattern in the construction pages.

October 3, 1999
New site of the month for October, forum is down today due to problems at Network54.

September 20, 1999

July 26, 1999
A banner is now available for linking to the guild, Clan 17 is over, we got our 700th hit, and the Armor Wanted area has been moved to the forum.

June 15, 1999

June 5, 1999
The Armorers Guild is Online. Again people are needlessly killed on the battlefield.

May 29, 1999
